THE HANDWRITING ON THE WALL

A message from God!

Daniel 5:1-8,13,17,23-30 NIV King Belshazzar gave a great banquet for a thousand of his nobles and drank wine with them. While Belshazzar was drinking his wine, he gave orders to bring in the gold and silver goblets that Nebuchadnezzar, his father, had taken from the temple in Jerusalem, so that the king and his nobles, his wives and his concubines might drink from them. So they brought in the gold goblets that had been taken from the Temple of God in Jerusalem, and the king and his nobles, his wives, and his concubines drank from them. As they drank the wine, they praised the gods of gold and silver, of bronze, iron, wood, and stone. Suddenly, the fingers of a human hand appeared and wrote on the plaster of the wall, near the lampstand in the royal palace. The King watched the hand as it wrote. His face turned pale, and he was so frightened that his legs became weak and his knees were knocking. The King summoned the enchanters, astrologers, and diviners. Then he said to these wise men of Babylon, “Whoever reads this writing and tells me what it means will be clothed in purple and have a gold chain placed around his neck, and he will be made the third highest ruler in the kingdom.” Then all the king's wise men came in, but they could not read the writing or tell the king what it meant. 13. So Daniel was brought before the king, and the king said to him, “Are you Daniel, one of the exiles, my father the king, brought from Judah? 17. Then Daniel answered and said before the king, “Let thy gifts be to thyself, and give thy rewards to another; yet I will read the writing onto the king, and make known to him the interpretation.” 23-30 ‘You have set yourself up against the LORD of Heaven. You had the goblets from His Temple brought to you, and you and your nobles, your wives, and your concubines drank wine from them. You praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which cannot see or hear or understand. But you did not honor the God who holds in His hand your life and all your ways.’ “Therefore, He sent the hand that wrote the inscription. This is the inscription that was written: Mene: God has numbered the days of your reign and brought it to an end. Tekel: You have been weighed on the scales and found wanting. Peres: Your kingdom is divided and given to the Medes and Persians.” Then, at Belshazzar’s command, Daniel was clothed in purple, a gold chain was placed around his neck, and he was proclaimed the third-highest ruler in the kingdom. That very night, Belshazzar, king of the Babylonians, was slain.

God told Belshazzar that his kingdom would be taken from him, and that night, he was slaughter. Why? Because he made idols out of material things rather than worshiping the Almighty God, his creator.

IF GOD WROTE A MESSAGE ON THE WALL TO YOU;

WHAT WOULD IT SAY?

Think about it…..and ask yourself: “Does God have to frighten me to get my attention?”

What sin are you committing to bring the punishment of God upon you?

Think about it and then repent!

Let's look at one possible message He would put on the wall for all of us.

AWAKE, AWAKE”

Therefore, He says: “AWAKE, thou that sleepest, and ARISE, from the dead (your lifestyle) and CHRIST, shall give thee light. (Ephesians 5:14 NKJV)

And do this, understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of God. Let us behave decently, as in the daylight, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy. Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh. (Romans 13:11-14 NIV)

WAKE UP! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have found your deeds unfinished in the sight of My God. (Revelation 3:2 NIV)

DO NOT MERELY LISTEN TO THE WORD, and so deceive yourselves. DO WHAT IT SAYS. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it, not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it, they will be blessed in what they do. (James 1:22-25)

COME BACK to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God, I say this to your shame. (1 Corinthians 15:34 NIV)

REMEMBER, therefore, what you have received and heard; hold it fast, and repent. BUT IF YOU DO NOT WAKE UP, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to YOU. The one who is VICTORIOUS will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out the name of that person from the Book of Life, but will acknowledge that name before My Father and His Angels. Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the Churches. (Revelation 3:3,5-6 NIV)

REPENT, AND LET EVERYONE OF YOU BE BAPTIZED IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST, FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS; AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE THE GIFT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. (Acts 2:38 NKJV)

TOMORROW IS NOT A PROMISE TO YOU, DO IT TODAY!

Confessed the Lord Jesus Christ as my Savior.

I repent of my sins, and declare with my mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead.”

Romans 10:9-10 NIV If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified (righteous), and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. Thanks be to God and The Lord Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ Name I pray Amen!
